Focus on the good: Our worry habits and how to shift our thoughts

Today I want to talk about worry.

It’s almost certain that most of us have times where we worry and it’s a harmful habit because worry tends to show up at the most unwelcome times, like when we are going on a job interview or when we are trying to focus on a special project, or when we are trying to sleep.

Worrying can be ingrained and addictive. It would be wonderful if we could stop our worries in their tracks and believe that there really aren’t any worries to worry about. The first step towards doing that is to simply notice when you are worrying. Any kind of change always starts with awareness. When we catch ourselves worrying we create a kind of distance between us and our worried thoughts. We can observe our thoughts and in a sense step out of that thought with our awareness and with this separation we can question if this worry is helpful to us or harmful.

So the next time you catch yourself worrying, try to step outside of the quicksand of worry by remembering that there truly is nothing to worry about and Focus on the good to recapture your happy heart ♥️
